Sebastian Haslauer: Buildings, Dingbats
The publication ‘Buildings, Dingbats’ presents two series of ceramic works by the Berlin-based artist Sebastian Haslauer. Known for his paintings and collage work, the two-part publication for the first time showcases Haslauer’s unseen sculptural ceramic works.
‘Buildings‘, the first half of the publication, documents a series of abstract assemblage sculptures, fusing glossy ceramics alongside found objects and raw materials to create symbolic representations of the built environment. The second half of the publication presents ‘Dingbats’, a series of illustrative ceramics in which Haslauer reflects daily life icons through a playful and distorted lens. The sculptures are complimented by poetic texts individually composed by author Jörg Albrecht in response to each piece.
The publication is edited, photographed, designed and published by HelloMe, in close collaboration with the artist. A limited edition, accompanied by a unique ceramic work will be released in a numbered edition of five, including a certificate of authentication, numbered and signed by the artist.
