Sincerity/Irony Heldane Specimen Book

The Sincerity/Irony Heldane specimen book is the result of a collaboration between Klim, New Zealand poet Hera Lindsay Bird and design agency Alt Group.

Bird mines the absurdity and humour of sincerity and irony. The text starts at opposing ends before meeting and muddling in the middle, decked out in a spray of Heldane Display in foil-stamped rainbow glitter.

Heldane is a contemporary serif family inspired by the renaissance works of Hendrik van den Keere, Claude Garamont, Robert Granjon and Simon de Colines. Rather than emulating a specific font, Heldane amalgamates the best details from these sources into a cohesive whole. The classical typographic foundations of Heldane are refined with rigorous digital drawing.
